FAQ

Common questions.

Many answers depend on your site. A site assessment gives you specifics.

Who owns the equipment?

That is set in your agreement. We will walk through the ownership and service options that fit your site and budget during the assessment, so you know who owns what before anything is installed.

How do residents pay?

Drivers start and pay for sessions in the Gridspot app on iOS or Android. You set the price per kWh or per session. We process the payments and pay the property's revenue out to you.

What if a charger goes offline?

We get an automatic alert. Most issues are resolved remotely with a reboot or firmware update. If the problem is physical, we coordinate an on-site repair. Response commitments are spelled out in your service agreement.

Do I need to upgrade my electrical service?

It depends on your existing service, how many chargers you want and what power level. Some sites can add Level 2 charging on existing capacity. Larger installs and DC fast charging often need panel or utility service work. The site assessment tells you which case you are in.

Which incentives apply?

That depends on your state, your utility and current federal rules, and programs change often. We identify the programs your site may qualify for during the assessment. We can't guarantee approval, and you should confirm tax questions with your own advisor.

How long does install take?

It depends mostly on permitting, utility work and equipment lead times. A Level 2 install that uses existing electrical capacity moves much faster than a project that needs new utility service. We give you a timeline once the site is assessed.
